Via of the Lehigh Valley announces the retirement of Chairman Jerry Somers. Board Member Mike Keller, Marketing Manager at Barry Isett & Associates, will step into the role, bringing valuable communications expertise to the position. We thank Jerry for his 16 years of dedicated leadership and service. He will continue to serve on the Board as Immediate Past Chair.

The Via Foundation also marks a transition as Chairman Brian Cook retires. Jeremy Sestito, Director of Global Accounting at OraSure Technologies, will assume the role, offering strong financial leadership for the Foundation’s future. We are grateful to Brian for his commitment and contributions over the years.

Camp Via wrapped up a vibrant summer filled with fun, learning, and connection. A highlight of the season was St. Luke’s Week, where campers zipped across zip lines, climbed ropes, made veggie pizzas, learned to play Pickleball, and enjoyed a variety of engaging activities. The week showcased the spirit of adventure and teamwork that defines Camp Via, leaving campers with lasting memories, new friendships, and new skills.

Via’s Community Connections team recently held a food drive to support Second Harvest Food Bank, collecting just under 100 pounds of food through shopping efforts and generous donations. With local food banks facing a crisis due to cuts in federal funding and access to fresh food, this initiative reflects Via’s ongoing commitment to supporting our community in times of need.

This summer, our Direct Support Professionals and the individuals they support made the most of the sunshine by exploring all corners of the Lehigh Valley! From parks and museums to local festivals and ice cream outings, every adventure was filled with laughter, connection, and discovery. These moments not only celebrated the season but also strengthened the bonds within our community — and we’re so proud of our DSPs for making it all possible.
